THE Department of Youth Development and Sports and Saint Lucia Football Association will stage the third place playoff and finals of the secondary schools girls’ football tournament today at the Sab Sporting Facility at Vigie.
From 1:00 p.m. St. Joseph’s Convent and Leon Hess Comprehensive will face off in the third place playoff to be followed at 2:00 p.m. by the much-anticipated finals between Vieux Fort Comprehensive and last year’s champions, Soufriere Comprehensive.
Soufriere Comprehensive made it to the finals with a 2-0 win over Leon Hess Comprehensive while Vieux Fort Comprehensive defeated St. Joseph’s Convent 1-0.
Meanwhile, schools’ volleyball action continued yesterday with two games in the female category — one each at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Micoud Community Court. Micoud took on St. Joseph’s Convent and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College played Entreport Secondary.
On Tuesday, in the Under-20 male category played at the Micoud Community Court and at the Vigie Multipurpose Sports Complex respectively, Sir Ira Simmons defeated Corinth 2-1 (25-22, 26-28, 15-13) while Sir Arthur Lewis Community College had the better of Entrepot 2-0 (25- 29, 25-21).
