“Our thoughts and prayers are also with the management and staff of CIE Limited who are suffering from the shock and pain of the loss of their friends and co-workers who perished in these horrific circumstances,” a statement from the party said.
It added: “We wish the injured a complete and speedy recovery and thank the medical and emergency respondents for their hard work under trying circumstances.
“We applaud the sterling work of the doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers and other first respondents for their diligence and commitment to the call of duty in these difficult moments.
Opposition Leader Philip J. Pierre on Tuesday visited the site of the accident to personally express his concern and sadness.
“I wish strength and courage to the relatives and friends of the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured. I hope the Managing Director and staff can overcome this terrible setback and continue to make their contribution to our island Saint Lucia. It will not be easy but I am sure that collectively with help and encouragement they will survive,” Pierre said.
