The Castries Cricket Association Paul Remice T20 competition bowled off this past weekend at the Mindoo Phillip Park with three matches played over the two days. There were wins for New Park, Shamrock and Lancers.
On Sunday in game 1 – New Park played Central Castries Under -19s. Batting first after losing the toss, New Park went on to score 123 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs with Gaspard Prospere top scoring with 51. Bowling for CC Under -19s Jermain Harding picked up 2 for 26 and Sanjay Hayle bagged 2 for 41.
In reply, CC Under -19s scored 113 for 8 in 20 overs with Jermain Harding (34) and Mateo Boulogne (17) leading the scoring. Bowling for New Park Johnnel Eugene took 2 for 19 and Kester Charlemagne 2 for 26.
In game No. 2 played Shamrock won the toss against Unique and batted first to score 156 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, Vidal Crandon top scoring with 57 and Stephen Naitram making 48. Bowling for Unique, Rohan Alexander picked up 3 for 17.
Unique fell short of their target by 4 runs as they went on to score 153 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs with Thomas Elcock scoring 76 not out and JemmiMauricette hitting 19. Bowling for Shamrock Cyprian Servais took 1 for 20 and Kyle Constantine 1 for 22 .
In the only game on the card on Saturday, Lancers took on Unique. The latter won the toss and decided to take first knock and went on to score 66 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 15 overs. Thomas Elcock top scored with 12. Bowling for Lancers, Sanjay Hayle bagged 3 for 15.
Chasing 67 runs for victory, Lancers scored 70 without loss in 7.1 overs with Hubert Joseph scoring 21 not out and Jason Simon 30 not out.
Matches continue this weekend from 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively at the MPP with two double headers on Saturday and Sunday.
