Solid Waste Attendant for Japan Training

FOR the fifth consecutive year, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is providing technical training under its Knowledge Co-Creation Programmes (KCCP) in Solid Waste Management.

The course, titled “Sustainable Solid Waste Management for CARICOM Member States,” will be conducted in Okinawa, Japan from August to October 2016.

Mrs. Selma Ferdinand, Weighbridge Attendant at the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority’s Vieux Fort Disposal Site, will be representing Saint Lucia at the training.

This course is designed to improve solid waste management and solve the issues that are being faced by developing countries.

Participants will understand the necessity and learn the techniques of sustainable solid waste management in islands and utilize them for planning and implementing appropriate solid waste management in their respective organizations and countries.

JICA’s KCCP contributes to solving issues in developing countries by providing Japan’s technical knowledge and practical solutions.
