IT’S all to play for tomorrow when the Guyana Amazon Warriors take on the winner of last evening’s elimination match-up between Jamaica Tallawahs and defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2016 Caribbean Premier League T20 final in St. Kitts.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors, on Wednesday evening in a rain-affected match notched up a tight win over Chris Gayle’s Jamaica Tallawahs in the first playoff, thereby booking their place in the final.
On Thursday, the Trinbago Knight Riders defeated the St. Lucia Zouks by five wickets with nine balls remaining. Batting first the Zouks were restricted to 164 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs with Andre Fletcher’s 41 from 43 balls, Captain Daren Sammy 40 from balls that included 3 massive sixes and Johnson Charles 31 from 22 balls.
Trinbago Knight Riders were 165 for 5 with Brendon Mc Cullum top scoring with 49 from 41 balls, Umar Akmal 30 from 15 balls. Bowling for the St. Lucia Zouks, Jerome Taylor took 2 for 31 and Delorn Johnson 2 for 44 respectively.
