PAWASOL Pour Ti Mamai (Children’s Umbrella), a St. Lucian charitable organization has said thanks to all its members and sponsors those who walked, cheered or just had the group in their thoughts for their recent fund raising walk.
The five mile walk took place earlier this month from the entrance to Pigeon Island, through Becune Point Cap Estate, then down to the beach and back up to the entrance of Pigeon Island passing in front of the Landings.
A total of 40 persons showed up for the walk and the event was able to raise a total of EC$9,000.00.
All the funds raised by the walk and all other fund raisers (100 percent) are used to help St. Lucian children in need. Requests are regularly received from school principals, medical doctors, social workers and community groups, “so we need all the help we can get”, a spokesman said.
