AWARD-WINNINGLadera Resort, a platinum level sponsor of this year’s Soufriere Creole Jazz, has partnered with Living Water Community to raise funds to feed the hungry in Soufriere.
“For over 20 years, Ladera has quietly supported many charities in and around the Soufriere region.” said Holly Scott, Chairman of Ladera. “When my father Ralph Hooper founded Ladera, a large part of his mission was to provide jobs and training for the people of St. Lucia. He also saw the need to help our friends and neighbours by supporting education, medical care and food for the hungry. Through our Good Works Group, we have donated generously to schools, medical centers and the Soufriere Soup Kitchen.”
As a platinum sponsor, Ladera will have a table at Creole Jazz, at which volunteers from Living Water Community and Ladera Resort will sell raffle tickets. Living Water Community in Soufriere is a Catholic charity which works closely with the Soufriere Soup Kitchen, and all money raised goes directly to the charity to support their mission to feed the poor.
Ladera has donated a grand prize for the raffle an All-Inclusive Weekend for Two at Ladera. “Many of the people who will be attending Soufriere Creole Jazz would love to spend a luxurious weekend at Ladera, and we expect that this prize will help boost the charitable donations to Living Water.” said Scott. “I am also thrilled to announce that Stonefield Resort in Soufriere has donated a weekend for two, including breakfast, as a prize.”
Ladera’s founder Ralph Hooper said: “We encourage the attendees at Soufriere Jazz to take this opportunity to help others, and Ladera is excited to be spearheading this charitable outreach. We are hopeful that other sponsors will donate prizes as well, so that together we can feed the hungry in our midst.”
