LARGE crowds are expected at the La Ressource Playing Field in Dennery and the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort when these two venues come alive this evening with two crucial double headers in the Super League Football tournament.

At the LPF in Group 4 – from 6.00 p.m. Babonneau will play Canaries. Both teams are locked on 3 points following wins in their opening encounters last week at the same venue.

The second encounter will be an all important match-up when Marchand takes on home team Mabouya Valley at 8:00 p.m.; both teams went down in their opening matches against Babonneau and Canaries respectively and this evening will be crucial for both sides as a loss for either will see them crashing out of the tournament.

In Group 1 – scheduled for the PMG from 6.00 p.m. Dennery with 2 points from two drawn games will play group leaders Vieux Fort North on 4 points from their two previous games. At 8:00 p.m. Mon Repos with 2 points from two drawn games will play Soufriere.

On Tuesday evening Central Castries continued their winning ways with a 3 – 1 win over Choiseul at the Gros Islet Playing Field. The City boys opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through their No. 18 Brynn Walker, but the visitors came back to equalize via the penalty spot in the 33rd minute to leave the half time score 1 – 1.

On the resumption Central Castries nosed ahead with goals in the 57th and 71st minute through their No.16 Lael Cherry and No.10 Shaquille Joseph.

In the second encounter home team Gros Islet won over South Castries 6 – 0 after squandering at least 8 easy scoring opportunities in the entire match-up. No. 16 Elijah Louis opened the scoring for Gros Islet in the 7th minute when he struck a low right foot shot past the South Castries custodian. Louis was in the thick of things again in the 22nd minute when he doubled the score-line for his team to seize the half-time advantage.

In the second half South Castries made three quick substitution that made a difference as they added some pressure on the Gros Islet defence.

With time running out on the clock the defending champions needed to score goals in this encounter against South Castries and that they did as the flood gates opened when No.10 Nicholas Lawrence scored in the 84th minute and three quick strikes in the 84th, 85th and 90th minute from the boots of No.6 Melvin Doxilly, No. 11 Eden Charles and substitute No.7 AramisLorde made it 6 – 0 to claim all three points.
