Leading Players To be Recognised

THE Bay Gardens Hotel Conference Room will come alive from 7:00 p.m. this evening when the St. Lucia Volleyball Association hosts its 2015 Recognition Evening where outstanding 2014 performers will be celebrated.
According to SLVA President Brian Louisy, Senior Male Volleyball Player of the Year Julian Biscette though off island, will receive one of this year’s top Awards, alongside SanchaIsidore, Senior Female Volleyball Player of the Year. Other Awards for Junior and Youth in male and female categories will also be presented.
Louisy also mentioned that a new feature will be the Top 15, where SLVA will recognize the 15 big players of 2014.
The Recognition Evening will have extra flavour this year as the President of NORCECA Cristobal Marte – Hoffiz and Glenn Quinlan, President of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Asociation will be in attendance. These gentlemen in addition to the Presidents of all ECVA member countries will be will be in St. Lucia for the 2015 ECVA Congress which takes place this morning
SLVA is of the view that the sport is growing from strength to strength with participation among the student population and the various national teams enjoying outstanding success over the last few years. The added fillip given to the sport by Joseph Clercent and Julian Biscette earning professional contracts is expected to propel more players to aspire for greater and more success in the sport.
