M&C Group of Companies has once more demonstrated its continued support of the Cultural Development Foundation’s (CDF), National Arts Festival, Artreach when Mrs.MarellaDevaux, Group Marketing Manager, presented a cheque for $10,000 to Mr.Petrus Compton, Executive Chairman of the CDF last week

M&C’s involvement in the arts began in 1979 with the establishment of the M&C Fine Arts Awards Scheme, as a gift to the nation on its independence. M&C says it is proud to see the continued growth of the Arts Festival under the patronage of the CDF.

The calendar of events for Artreach this year is extensive and far reaching and includes talent from the many communities throughout St. Lucia. This year, The National Arts Festival started its programme in Laborie in February with a community festival and exhibition and went on to produce a stellar performance on stage in Vieux Fort in celebration of St. Lucia’s 36th Independence Anniversary.

One of the main goals of the CDF Artreach is to showcase the unique portfolios and talents of St Lucia’s young artists and to gain access to a wider audience, be it locally or regionally. One such talent is Gary Butte, a past participant of the M&C Fine Arts Awards, who is the featured artist at this year’s Art exhibition.

The M&C Group of Companies wished the Cultural Development Foundation every success with this year’s Artreach, and encouraged the public to participate in this year’s events.
