THERE were wins for Corinth Secondary, Soufriere Comprehensive and Babonneau (by default over Ciceron Secondary) as in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports sponsored Massy United Insurance Under – 19 Schools Cricket Tournament continued this week.
At the Monchy Playing Field, Corinth Secondary won over CARE by 53 runs in a low scoring match. Corinth was dismissed for 67 in 13.3 overs.
For CARE, the pick of the bowlers was Emerson Charles who picked up 5 for 26. Good support also came from Winston Joseph with 3 for 4 and Prince Gabriel 2 for 28.
In reply, some good tight pressure bowling by spinners LerryAuguste (5 for 3) and Raphael Largan (4 for 11) dismissed CARE for a paltry 14 all out in 7.1 overs. In the process, Auguste completed a hat trick, the second of the tournament so far.
At the Soufriere Playing Field, in another low scoring game, the home team completed a comfortable 4 wicket victory over Piaye Secondary. Piaye was dismissed for 69 in 15.4 overs.
Soufriere Comprehensive finished on 70 for 6 in 14.5 overs with Gilbert Prospere scoring 16 and Ichast Joseph 15. Shervin George was Piaye Secondary’s best bowler finishing with figures of 5 for 33 in 7 overs.
At the Gros Islet Playing field, Babonneau Secondary picked up their first points of the tournament so far, as they won by default over Ciceron Secondary.
