
THE Gros Islet Football League Promotional Tournament kicked off with a Match Past of the six participating teams and welcome remarks by the District Representative Emma Hippolyte and 1st Vice President of the Gros Islet Football League Chad Desir.
The two individuals shared similar sentiments as they welcomed the participating teams, and urged the players to play every game at the highest possible level and in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
On the field of play in Game 1, Monchy defeated a youthful GMC team 2 – 0 with goals coming from the boots of Neil Nelson in the 38th minute and Nemiah Leo in the 50th minute respectively.
Game 2 saw Super J Northern United defeated Dominators 3-2.
The competition continued on Monday, when Young Bird Strikers defeated Seaview 4-3 with one goal each from Xavier Boudor, Rangy Francis and two goals from Vanroy Lloyd. Seaview goals were scored by LenonPolius, Zacchaeus Jones and Giovanni Phillip.
