THE stage is set for the semi finals of the inaugural St. Lucia Football Association sponsored Vizions Entertainment / Michel’s Electronics Knock – Out Football tournament as hundreds of supporters will converge on the Phillip Marcellin Grounds tomorrow to take in the action.

President of the Vieux Fort South Football League Emmanuel Bellas spoke to The Voice following VFS progress to the semi final round He said :”Our qualifying to the semi final has created an atmosphere of support in Vieux Fort South for the team, as most of the Under – 23 players are currently playing in the senior team and that has given them an added impetus to ensure they work harder to get into the finals. You can rest assured that the team will continue to train as a unit”.
Team manager Nicola Jeffers chipped in: “We came into the competition to win. We came with a youthful team as most of the senior players decided to give the younger players an opportunity to represent VFS. Despite the bye in the first round and the victory over Mabouya Valley I am satisfied with the team’s performance thus far and look forward to a similar performance on Sunday against Canaries”.
Meanwhile, the four teams made it to the semi final rounds with the following results : Gros Islet 7 – Desruisseaux 0; Gros Islet 4 Mabouya Valley 0: Canaries 1 South Castries 0; Canaries 2 Roseau 0; Vieux Fort South received a BYE in the first round, Vieux Fort South 3 Mon Repos 0; Soufriere 2 Babonneau 0; Soufriere 4 Anse La Raye 3 on penalty kicks, Soufriere 2 Micoud 1 in a play off in Anse La Raye.
