All high court criminal appeal matters and magistrate criminal appeal matters scheduled for hearing this week at the Sitting of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (Court of Appeal) at the Nyerah Court, John Compton Highway, Castries have been adjourned.
This was confirmed by the High Court – through its website.
The cases have all been postponed to the next sitting during the week commencing on Monday 8 April, 2019 to Friday 12 April, 2019 due to the unavailability of court facilities.
The information on criminal cases not being heard until April of next year was in the form of a notice posted on the court’s website last Thursday.
The press has of late been bombarded with social media complaints by citizens seeking justice in the courts, who have complained that their cases are being adjourned and they only get to know when they go to the courthouse to find out.
