Recognizing the importance of these principles, the Commissioner of Police has prioritized discipline within the organization to strengthen the RSLPF’s mission of providing a professional and effective policing service to the people of Saint Lucia.
A spokesperson for the RSLPF stated, “As the Discipline Officer, I understand the significance of this responsibility. Discipline should be approached with fairness, consistency, impartiality, and respect for due process.”
The statement further emphasizes that “Discipline is not merely about addressing misconduct; it also reinforces professionalism and clarifies the standards expected of our officers. It ensures that every member comprehends the responsibility that comes with serving in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. Policing is a shared responsibility.”
While all members of the Force are expected to uphold high standards of conduct, there is also a parallel expectation that the public will respect the law, especially while officers carry out their duties in service to the community. The Discipline Unit is committed to handling disciplinary matters with fairness and transparency through well-administered processes when addressing allegations or concerns.
It’s essential to recognize that behind each disciplinary case are individuals and careers, as well as the public confidence that officers are obligated to protect. The Unit aims to fulfill this responsibility with professionalism, objectivity, and integrity.
This approach will be anchored in fairness and accountability, ensuring that the disciplinary process strengthens both the organization and the trust that the people of Saint Lucia place in their Police Force.
In line with this commitment, individuals with pending disciplinary matters before the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force are encouraged to contact the Discipline Unit at 456 4223 or via email at disciplineunit12@gmail.com.
Mission and Vision:
- To provide professional community policing, promote crime reduction, and enhance road safety.
- To cultivate a safer environment for all in Saint Lucia.
Discipline Unit Goals:
- To ensure that disciplinary matters are managed fairly, transparently, and with due process.
- To emphasize professionalism, integrity, and respect for individual rights.
- To recognize policing as a shared responsibility between officers and the public.
The RSLPF says it prioritizes fair discipline to maintain public trust and strengthen organizational integrity.
