Saint Lucia is taking significant steps toward establishing a productive and efficient cannabis industry on the island.

In an effort to raise awareness regarding the merits and drawbacks of cannabis use in the community, the Regulated Substances Authority (RSA) of Saint Lucia, in collaboration with the Saint Lucia Bankers Association, GrowerIQ, and CBN, proudly announces the upcoming Cannabis Banking & Financial Integrity Summit.

This essential event is scheduled for October 29 at the Finance Administrative Centre, Point Seraphine. The full-day summit will be held under the theme “Compliance, Traceability, and Risk Management for a Viable Cannabis Industry.”

It will gather key stakeholders from the financial services, regulatory, and cannabis sectors to explore the opportunities, risks, and practical considerations associated with banking funds generated by the regulated cannabis industry.

The summit aims to foster informed dialogue and enhance understanding of the systems and safeguards necessary for a formal and well-regulated industry. The agenda will feature presentations and discussions on digital seed-to-sale traceability, auditing cannabis funds, regional experiences in facilitating cannabis banking, physical product authentication and tax verification, and considerations for commercial banking and risk management.

Highlighting the importance of this discussion for Saint Lucia’s emerging regulated cannabis sector and the broader financial system, there will be a strong emphasis on disseminating relevant information to the public regarding the regulatory, financial, and compliance aspects surrounding the industry.

The RSA is committed to keeping the public informed on critical matters related to the development and regulation of Saint Lucia’s cannabis sector.
