RR Aquatic Competitive Swim Club has marked an important milestone in its development after successfully participating in the Grenfin Invitational Swim Meet that ran from 24th – 27th Sep, 2026, held at the Good Hope Swimming Pool in St. Paul’s, Grenada.
The team travelled from St. Lucia to Grenada for the competition, making this RR Aquatic’s first overseas travel meet as a club. The young swimmers delivered a commendable performance, returning home with an impressive collection of medals, valuable racing experience and memories that will last a lifetime.
Representing RR Aquatic were Leamandia Brown, Andrew Charlemagne, Liam Charlemagne, Zedan Samuel, Kymari Octave, Kaelah Octave, Mayar Haynes and Joshua Mayers.
Throughout the competition, the swimmers demonstrated courage, discipline and strong team spirit. Six members of the travelling team had previously represented St. Lucia at the Goodwill Swimming Championships in Trinidad and Tobago. However, the Grenfin Invitational marked a historic first for the swimmers travelling and competing overseas together under the banner of RR Aquatic Competitive Swim Club. The young athletes remained focused and represented both RR Aquatic and St. Lucia with pride.
Head Coach and CEO of RR Aquatic Competitive Swim Club, Roosevelt Romain, described the trip as a significant step forward for the club.
“This was much more than a swim meet. It was an opportunity for our young swimmers to grow, become more confident and understand what it means to travel and compete as a team. I am extremely proud of the courage, discipline and togetherness they demonstrated throughout the trip,” Coach Romain said.

“The medals are important, but the experience gained is even more valuable. This competition has shown our swimmers what is possible when they work hard, support one another and believe in themselves.”
The Grenfin Invitational also served as valuable preparation for upcoming national competitions and the selection process for the Capri-Sun National OECS Swim Team. The experience will assist the swimmers as they continue working towards achieving national qualifying standards and representing St. Lucia at higher levels.
This achievement represents another important step in RR Aquatic’s mission to develop confident, disciplined and competitive young swimmers while providing opportunities for them to grow through sport.
