According to the Ministry, the claim is untrue. Officials have verified that the video being circulated was not recorded in Saint Lucia and is unrelated to any incident on the island.
The Ministry said the circulation of the video could unnecessarily alarm residents and is encouraging members of the public to verify information before sharing it online.
It noted that inaccurate reports about snake sightings can generate public fear, interfere with the response to legitimate incidents.
The Ministry said that it remains engaged with relevant agencies in managing snake-related concerns and educating communities. These efforts form part of the National Snake Risk Management Framework, which includes monitoring snake activity, coordinating rapid responses, providing public education and engaging communities.
Residents who encounter a snake are being advised to contact Forestry Division Wildlife Officers rather than attempting to deal with the animal themselves.

The Ministry is also cautioning residents against trying to capture, handle or kill snakes, as such actions could result in injury.
Anyone bitten by a snake or experiencing a related medical emergency should call 911 immediately or seek treatment at the nearest emergency department.
The Ministry further urged the public to rely on verified information and official Government channels when seeking updates on snake-related incidents.
