In its ongoing efforts to promote arts and culture in Saint Lucia, the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) recently welcomed Ms. Veronika L.C. Liu, the newly appointed Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Lucia. This courtesy meeting aimed to reaffirm the longstanding partnership between the Embassy and the Foundation in advancing Saint Lucia’s creative sector.

Ms. Liu will oversee the Spotlight Taiwan Wood Sculpting Workshop – Level 2, a collaborative initiative between the Embassy and CDF. This program builds on the success of the inaugural workshop and highlights the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthen the capacity of Saint Lucian artists through technical training, innovation, and international cooperation.

The Level 2 workshop is part of the Workshop to World Shop initiative, designed to equip participating sculptors with advanced artistic, entrepreneurial, and product development skills.

In addition to refining their technical expertise, the program aims to enhance market readiness and expand opportunities for participants within the local, regional, and international creative economy. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss the continued implementation of the program and reaffirm their commitment to fostering creativity, cultural exchange, and sustainable livelihoods in the creative industries.

The Cultural Development Foundation expresses its gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Lucia for its ongoing partnership and extends a warm welcome to Ms. Liu as she begins her tenure.

CDF looks forward to further strengthening this valued collaboration in support of Saint Lucia’s artists and the growth of the nation’s cultural and creative industries.
