Suspect Arrested in Jevauny Roberts Homicide Case

Law enforcement officials have apprehended a suspect linked to the brutal homicide of community activist and performer Jevauny Darrion Kimani Roberts, which took place approximately two months ago in a suburban area.

On May 22, at around 2:20 p.m., the body of 32-year-old Jevauny Roberts was discovered at his residence in Sunny Acres, Castries, showing an apparent wound to the neck.

Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department and Major Crimes Unit promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. A post-mortem examination conducted on May 28 confirmed the cause of death as an incised wound to the anterior neck.

On July 1, the Major Crimes Unit executed a joint operation with the Special Patrol Team and the Special Services Unit, resulting in the arrest of 35-year-old Rufinus Edwin, also known as Yanick, from Bagatelle, Marchand.

On July 5, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Edwin was formally cautioned and charged with the homicide of Jevauny Roberts. He subsequently appeared before the First District Court in Castries, where he was remanded in custody until August 11, 2026.

The Major Crimes Unit would like to express its sincere gratitude to the members of the public for their ongoing cooperation throughout the investigation.

A spokesperson from the Royal St Lucia Police Force [RSLPF] states, “Your willingness to provide information and assist investigators has been crucial in bringing the offenders to justice and offering closure to affected families. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to justice.”
