PRESS RELEASE — The Castries City Council (CCC) is excited to announce that Miguel Emmanuel will be their first-ever representative at this season’s Inter Commercial House Calypso Competition, taking place Thursday at the National Cultural Centre.
Just four months into his role as a plumber at the City Council, Miguel has stepped forward to represent the organization in the upcoming 2026 competition.
In a recent media interview, Miguel expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am happy, and it’s an honour and a privilege to be the first person to represent the council. I’ll do my best.” He will be performing a song titled “No Kamla,” which refers to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
Miguel is calling on the general public to come out and support him, assuring that “The Council staff will be there in full force.”
Coordinator Nikki Cauldron noted the significance of this event, mentioning that the council has previously featured talents like Ashanti, Papa Troublesome, and Twop Chanse in their shows, but this occasion holds a special place.
Mayor Geraldine Lendor-Gabriel has extended her full support to Miguel as he embarks on this exciting journey.
