Eight of Saint Lucia’s top young swimmers will represent the island at the second Pan Am Aquatics Swimming Championships from July 8 to 12 in Ibagué, Colombia.

The Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation (SLAF) announced the team’s selection for this prestigious event, which will draw over 500 competitors from 31 countries.

Since its debut at the championships in 2025, when Jayden Xu earned a bronze medal, the team has grown considerably.

This year, Xu returns alongside Olympian Mikaili Charlemagne and CARIFTA champion Sapphire Parks, who will compete in multiple events, including the 100m and 200m backstroke.

Additionally, CARIFTA gold medallists Maya Andrew, Fayth Jeffrey, and Tyler Dantes round out the team, which plans to field two mixed relay teams.

Events include the 50m, 100m, and 200m races for various strokes.

On July 9, Parks, Andrew, Dantes, and Jase Daniel will race in the mixed-gender 4x100m medley relay, followed by the 4x100m freestyle relay on July 11.

Brian Charles will head the coaching staff, supported by Jonathan Calderon and chaperone Sariah Daniel.
