Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has extended heartfelt congratulations to Team Saint Lucia for their remarkable achievements at the 35th CARIFTA Games, recently held in Grenada.
This premier regional track and field event, showcasing the talent of young athletes aged 12 to 20, took place over the Easter weekend from April 4 to 6.
Team Saint Lucia secured a total of four medals, with high jumper Destinee Cenac standing out by winning a gold medal.
In the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, swimmer Sapphire Parks captivated audiences with her exceptional performance, dominating the Girls 11-12 category.
PM Pierre shared his admiration on Facebook, stating, “Congratulations to our outstanding athletes who represented Saint Lucia with pride at the CARIFTA Games and CARIFTA Aquatics Championships.”
He further praised the athletes’ dedication, noting, “Destinee Cenac, Naya Jules, Denzel Phillips, and Randall Monroe delivered medal-worthy performances on the track and in the field, showcasing discipline and determination.”
In aquatics, PM Pierre highlighted the accomplishments of Sapphire Parks, Maya Andrew, Tyler Dantes, and Antoine Destang, who all excelled on the podiums, embodying exceptional talent and resilience, and contributing to Saint Lucia’s impressive showing.
He concluded with a message of inspiration, saying, “Your achievements continue to inspire a nation and reflect the strength and potential of our youth. To the coaches, parents, administrators, and cheerleaders, thank you for your unwavering support.”
