Girls Triple Jump U20 Final

At the 53rd CARIFTA Games 2026 held at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in Grenada, 19-year-old Saint Lucian star Naya Jules delivered an outstanding performance in the Under-20 Women’s Pole Vault Final, clearing 2.95 m to earn the silver medal for Saint Lucia.

In the final standings of the event:

  • 1st place (Gold)Naima Caprice (Martinique) with a jump of 3.20 m
  • 2nd place (Silver)Naya Jules (Saint Lucia) with 2.95 m
  • 3rd place (Bronze)Tessica Laurence (Trinidad and Tobago) with 2.30 m

Jules’ silver medal performance not only added to Saint Lucia’s medal tally but continued her strong showing in regional competition — following previous medals in CARIFTA pole vault events and solidifying her status as one of the Caribbean’s top young vaulters.

Competing against some of the region’s top young athletes, Jules demonstrated composure, strength and technical skill on one of the biggest junior stages in Caribbean athletics. Her 2.95m clearance marks a significant achievement for both her personal development and Saint Lucia’s growing presence in field events.

Pole vault is one of the more technically demanding disciplines in track and field, requiring a combination of speed, upper-body strength, timing and fearless execution. Jules’ performance reflects the hard work she has been putting in behind the scenes, along with the guidance of her coaches and support team.

At 19, she is competing in the upper age bracket of CARIFTA competition, and her showing signals that Saint Lucia continues to expand beyond its traditional sprint dominance into technical field events.
