As we conclude the 2025 fiscal year, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Saint Lucia, our valued stakeholders, and the people of this beautiful island who have welcomed us so warmly. On behalf of the JICA Saint Lucia Office, I thank you for your continued friendship and cooperation.
JICA’s vision is ‘Leading the World with Trust’. Our mission is to ensure that all people can believe in a brighter future and pursue diverse possibilities in a world of peace and prosperity. Guided by this mission, we have walked hand-in-hand with our Saint Lucian partners to advance sustainable development.
Looking back on our journey, we feel a profound sense of accomplishment. From technical cooperation in fisheries and agriculture to major infrastructure projects—such as the construction of the Cul-de-Sac Bridge and the improvement of fishery facilities like the Choiseul Fishing Port through Grant Aid—we have worked together to strengthen the very foundations of daily life. Furthermore, our Knowledge Co-Creation Programs (KCCP) in Japan have allowed us to share invaluable expertise with many Saint Lucians, creating a lasting bond of mutual learning.

A particularly significant milestone is the 30th anniversary of the JICA Volunteer (JOCV) program in Saint Lucia which began in 1995. With more than 300 volunteers dispatched to date, these dedicated individuals have worked at the grassroots level, striving side-by-side with their local counterparts to contribute to the nation’s socio-economic growth. The success and longevity of this program are a direct result of the deep understanding and warm hospitality shown by the people of Saint Lucia.
As we mark the end of this fiscal year, I wish to renew our commitment to this cherished partnership. JICA remains dedicated to walking alongside the people of Saint Lucia. Let us continue to deepen our mutual trust and embrace the challenges of the next stage together.
