LUCELEC Appoints New Assistant Chief Engineer

St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Carryl Haynes to the position of Assistant Chief Engineer effective Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Mr. Haynes previously served as Generation Engineer – Maintenance in LUCELEC’s Generation Department. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology.

Throughout his 13-year tenure at LUCELEC, Mr Haynes has consistently maintained an excellent record of performance. He is the recipient of a 2018 Special Achievement Award, 2022 Leadership Award and in 2025, he was a member of the Smart Grid (Clean Electrification) Maturity Model Development Team which earned the 2025 Strategic Award.

In his new role, Mr. Haynes, will have primary oversight of LUCELEC’s Facilities and Construction Management and Health and Safety teams while also providing direct support to Chief Engineer, Gary Eugene.

Of his new role he says, “I welcome the challenge of stepping into this new role and department within the company as we continue to navigate a changing operating landscape with a strategic focus that will increase value for our internal and external stakeholders.”

Mr Haynes joined LUCELEC on June 03, 2013, as a Trainee Engineer.
