
Fans erupted with enthusiastic support at the Canaries Playing Field on Monday as the teams fiercely competed for the qualifying finalist spots in the SLFA Inc. Senior Women competition, themed: Let Them Play.
In a thrilling semi-final atmosphere, Vieux Fort South emerged to face Canaries in the finals, while Central Castries will confront Desruisseaux in the Third Place Playoff on Saturday (August 30).
When the action concluded, V Fort South and Canaries stood tall as the finalists. V Fort South, last year’s Third Place winner and table toppers, dominated their match, decisively defeating last year’s runners-up Central Castries 5 – 1 in the first semi-final.
Ernasha Nanton delivered an outstanding performance for V Fort South, scoring a hat trick with goals in the 18th, 28th, and 77th minutes. Britanya St. Prix found the net in the 71st minute, and Jerddel King Emery capped off the scoring in the 78th minute.

Azia William had opened the scoring for Central Castries in the 15th minute.
In the other semi-final matchup, defending champions Canaries secured their place in the finals with a commanding 4 – 0 victory over Desruisseaux.
Canaries displayed their prowess with goals from Theon Auguste, who scored twice in the 49th and 63rd minutes, Kyla Solomon in the 3rd minute, and leading goal scorer Cassandra Shepherd in the 59th minute.
The stage is set for an intense showdown in the SLFA’s female soccer finals on Saturday, featuring two highly competitive teams ready to battle for glory.
