The Saint Lucia Golf Association held its summer camp from 16th to 26th July, 2025. The camp provided the opportunity to introduce golf to young people over the two week period. The youngsters learnt various aspect of the game such as putting, chipping, sand shots, the mechanics of the swing and golf etiquette. There were a total of twenty-two golfers. It is hoped that the next camp scheduled for December, 2025 will attract more students.

The lead trainer for this course was one of our key national players, Mr. Timothy Mangal notes the importance of the summer camp as a means of recruiting younger golfers so as to increase the population of golfers below the age of twenty-five.

This summer camp would not have been possible without the support of Sandals Golf and Country Club. Sandals, without hesitation, provided free of charge the use of the golf course, clubs, refreshments and prizes for the participants. It cannot be underscored how critical such sponsorship is as the SLGA seeks to grow the sport across Saint Lucia. The manager, Mr. Kurt Weekes committed to the support of the summer camp and our junior program without hesitation. The SLGA thanks the management and staff of Sandals Golf and Country Club for their support and contributions to this program and assistance in beginning to realise the SLGA’s vision for the sport of golf.
