The Prime Minister and the government unreservedly express their appreciation to the hospital staff, nurses and doctors who, for the past 15 years, continue to work under difficult conditions.
In August 2023, the Prime Minister secured $201 million from the Saudi Fund for Development to finish the St. Jude Hospital Reconstruction Project (SJHRP).
On September 13th, 2024, after just 13 months, the Government of Saint Lucia will sign two contracts with the Saudi Fund for Development to commence the final construction works on the SJHRP.
The government is determined to ensure the safe transfer of patients and operations from the George Odlum National Stadium to the new premises of the St. Jude Hospital at its original site in Augier, Vieux-Fort.
