During the past weekend, 27th January 2024, the Rodney Height Aquatic Centre (RHAC) hosted its annual Kick-Off Swim Meet with nearly 130 swimmers from six clubs participating in various events in different age groups. The Seajays Swim Club emerged victorious with 871.50 points, followed by the Sharks Swim Club with 803.50 points and Lightning Aquatic with 620 points.
During the competition, Sapphire Parks, a talented swimmer in the 9-10 age group for girls , broke the previous record in the 200-meter Backstroke set by Alana Mc Quilkin on August 25, 2005. The old record of 3 minutes and 15.72 seconds was shattered by Parks, who completed the race in 2 minutes and 46.92 seconds.
The final combined point tally was as follows: Seajays 871.50, Sharks 803.50, Lightning Aquatic 620, Southern Flying Fish 243, RR Aquatic 87, and RHAC Swim Club 43 points.
