This week, District 6 emerged victorious at the Inter-District Primary Schools’ Sports Meet, held at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground (DSCG). The atmosphere on Wednesday was electrifying as athletes showcased their skills and talents, all vying for the coveted title.

At the final tally, the results were as follows:
– District 6: 311 points
– District 8: 270 points
– District 5: 224 points
– District 2: 212 points
– District 1: 173 points
– District 7:126 points
– District 3: 114 points
– District 4: 107 points
In the Male Division, District 5 “rose tall and conquered all,” securing the championship with 138 points, followed by District 6 with 131 points and District 8 with 121 points.
In the Female Division, District 6 excelled with 180 points, with District 8 in second place at 149 points, District 2 at 110 points, and District 5 at 86 points.
Parliamentary Representative for Micoud South, Jeremiah Joseph, extended his congratulations to the District 5 team and acknowledged the hard work of the teachers, PE teachers, and coaches involved.

District 5 remains dedicated to its journey, determined to push forward and rise above all odds in pursuit of becoming the premier sporting district on the island.
A special shout-out goes to Shandre Fontenelle, a standout athlete from District 5, who captured the Victor Ludorum title at Wednesday’s Inter-District Track Meet.
Shandre’s impressive performance in the long and middle-distance events earned him medals in both the 1200m and 600m races. His passion for running, coupled with relentless determination, sets him apart.
Additionally, the Inter-District Primary School Championships (IDPSC) cricket ball throw showcased exciting performances on Monday, March 30, at the Mindoo Phillip Park.
The final results were:
– District 6: 51 points (girls 32, boys 19) – 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals
– District 8: 36 points (girls 22, boys 14) – 1 gold, 2 bronze medals
– District 5: 31 points (girls 8, boys 23) – 1 gold, 2 silver – District 7: 28 points (girls 5, boys 23) – 1 silver
– District 2: 22 points – 1 gold, 2 silver
– District 3: 21 points (girls 17, boys 4) – 1 silver, 1 bronze
– District 1: 19 points (girls 10, boys 9)
– District 4: 9 points (girls 0, boys 9) – 1 silver
