1st National Bank St. Lucia Ltd has announced the appointment of Mrs. Sandra Fontenelle as Managing Director, effective April 2, 2026. Fontenelle brings over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the financial services industry, spanning retail, business, and corporate banking.
She began her banking career as a Management Trainee and has since held leadership roles across sales, human resource management, and banking operations. Prior to joining 1st National Bank, Fontenelle served as Country Manager for RBC St. Lucia from 2015 to 2021, after leading the St. Kitts & Nevis and Montserrat markets as Area Vice President.
In 2021, Fontenelle joined 1st National’s leadership team, ultimately rising to the position of Deputy Managing Director, where she has played a key role in the integration of operations and strategic alignment of the organization. She has previously served on in multiple positions on the executive of the Bankers Association of Saint Lucia and currently sits as a Director on the Caribbean Association of Banks.
A strategic sales and leadership coach and mentor, Fontenelle is praised for her collaborative leadership style and her ability to bring teams together around a shared vision. In her role as Managing Director, she will continue to lead the Bank’s growth and commitment to delivering high-quality financial solutions that support the financial well-being of customers and communities.
