UPDATE: Suspect Charged in Connection with Death of Leslie Clarke in Vehicular Accident

Police have arrested and charged an individual following a tragic vehicular accident that took the life of veteran businessman Leslie Clarke on January 25.

On that day, at approximately 4:35 p.m., officers from the Department of Road Safety received reports of a collision on the Choc Highway in Castries.

Responding officers found that a vehicle traveling north collided with another vehicle heading south. Both drivers and their passengers suffered injuries and were transported to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital and Tapion Hospital for medical care.

Unfortunately, one passenger, identified as Leslie Clarke of Bonne Terre, Gros Islet, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Following comprehensive investigations, authorities have charged 23-year-old Rjae Actie of Monier, Gros Islet, with causing death by dangerous driving in relation to Clarke’s death.

Actie was presented at the First District Court for bail proceedings, where he was granted bail set at $10,000 cash or suitable surety, along with other court stipulations.
