
A delegation from the National Workers Union (NWU) is preparing to participate in a significant regional seminar from March 23 to 27, in Georgetown, Guyana.
The team includes Johann Harewood, Secretary General of the NWU, along with Ms. Agnes Maynard and Bradley Daniel, Shop Stewards from two NWU branches.
They will take part in the 7th IUF Caribbean Regional Conference and Related Meetings, organized by the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco, and Allied Workers Association (IUF). The Shop Stewards will also represent the perspectives of Women and Youth at the Regional Committees Meeting.
During the conference, Saint Lucia will have the opportunity to discuss the current landscape of unionization in the tourism sector and to propose educational initiatives aimed at mobilizing tourism workers across the country.
As an affiliate of the IUF, the National Workers Union will have its airfares and accommodation covered during this important week of activities. The sessions will take place at the Head Offices of the Guyana Agricultural Workers Union (GAWU) in Georgetown, Guyana.
