There is no doubt that the West Indies’ 1975 Cricket World Cup victory remains a defining chapter in our sporting history. Recently, that historic milestone received a modern, artistic tribute, and I am thrilled to report that this creative endeavor has been honored on the regional stage.

The commemorative logo designed for the 2025 Cricket West Indies (CWI) / West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) Awards Gala has officially received a Silver ADDY Award at the 2026 American Advertising Awards Caribbean competition.
The ADDY Awards are widely regarded as the advertising industry’s premier benchmark for creative excellence. To see a project rooted in our own regional pride—celebrating the legacy of Sir Clive Lloyd’s legendary team—receive this level of recognition is a testament to the power of Caribbean storytelling through design
“This award reflects the profound significance of the 50th anniversary of the 1975 World Cup and its champions,” said Dr. The Hon. Kishore Shallow, President of CWI. “It is a testament to collaboration, imagination, and regional pride.”
The visual identity was brought to life by Sergio Charles, co-founder and senior graphic designer at Always On Creative. Charles, an avid supporter of West Indies cricket, expressed that the project was a privilege, serving as a reminder of the immense talent within the Caribbean creative community. He was supported in this effort by a dedicated team, including Tashida Callender, Jamal Slocombe, and La Donna Williams.
The gala itself, held in Barbados on June 22, 2025, served as the perfect backdrop for this branding, which successfully merged our rich cricket heritage with contemporary design. As someone who appreciates the intersection of culture and creative design, it is heartening to see our local professionals being honored for work that captures the spirit of the region
Congratulations to the entire team at Always On Creative and the CWI/WIPA planning committee for this well-deserved achievement. It is a piece of art that truly captures the soul of West Indian cricket.
