Junior Footballers Display Skills in Exciting Encounters

Last weekend, junior footballers showcased their talents in two exciting categories during the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) soccer competition.

In the SLFA Inc Girls Under 13 District League, Anse La Raye emerged victorious against Dennery with a score of 4-0. Destiny Herman and Akayla Sam each scored two goals for the West Coast-based team, netting their strikes in the 14th, 25th, 30th, and 59th minutes.

Meanwhile, the SLFA Inc Primary Schools Boys Under 12 District League competition continued on Saturday, March 21st, at the Grande Riviere Playing Field in Gros Islet.

South Castries and Canaries both secured wins, while Desruisseaux won by default over Vieux Fort North at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere.

South Castries came back from being a goal down to defeat La Clery 5-1. Joshua James starred for South Castries, scoring four goals in the 18th, 27th, 33rd, and 60th minutes, with Tahj Jules adding another in the 45th minute.

Nithan Louison had previously opened the scoring for La Clery in the 13th minute.

In a thrilling match that came down to the wire, Canaries managed to edge out a determined Soufriere team with a 1-0 victory, thanks to a last-minute goal from Shervan Benjamin in the 4th minute of added time.
