Today (Saturday, March 28), Babonneau will face Choiseul in the finals of the Prime Minister (PM) T20 Cup, at the iconic Mindoo Phillip Park (MPP), at Marchand.

This tournament has showcased outstanding performances and thrilling contests among the competitors.
On Wednesday, Babonneau competed against Central Castries in a semifinal matchup at the MPP, resulting in a decisive victory for the northern-based team.
A favorable crowd of cricket enthusiasts and fans from both teams witnessed an impressive showdown, where Babonneau demonstrated the skill and determination that earned them a championship title in 2024.
Central Castries batted first and set a total of 137/7 in their 20 overs. Skipper Stephen Naitram led the batting for Central with 39 runs, while Kensley Paul contributed 16 runs, resulting in a below-par score.

Babonneau’s bowlers excelled, with Johnnel Eugene taking 3 wickets for 16 runs and Larry Edward claiming 2 for 23. Pacers Sanjay Hayle and Sacchin Cepal each picked up a wicket.

In reply, Babonneau’s Dane Edward delivered an aggressive batting display, achieving a rapid half-century – an impressive 93 runs off just 32 deliveries, leading the chase for Babonneau. Caleb Thomas supported him with an unbeaten 28 runs, allowing Babonneau to complete the win by eight wickets in just nine overs.
Meanwhile, in the other semifinal game, the atmosphere at La Fargue playing field in Choiseul was electric. Choiseul batted first, posting a challenging total of 161/6, with Nick Joseph leading the home team’s score with 58 runs.
For Soufriere, the wicket-takers were Sheldon Willie, Dalius Monrose, Xystus Emmanuel, and Shanii Mesmain.
However, their pursuit faltered due to regular wicket losses, and they managed only 143 runs before being bowled out in 20 overs. Monrose was the top scorer for Soufriere with 33 runs off 19 balls, while Dwight Thomas made 18 off 16, Bradley Tisson scored 18 not out of 9, and Kevin Gassike contributed 17 off 15.
Kuston Jules led the bowling attack for Choiseul, claiming 4 wickets for 25 runs, while Alvinous Simon took 3 for 24 and Sky Lafeuille captured 2 for 36.
In the end, the home team, Choiseul, clinched victory by 18 runs.
