Cruise Tourism Workers Secure 11% Pay Hike

Workers in the Cruise Tourism Sector at IGY Marina are set to receive an 11% general wage increase, benefiting from a phased implementation over three years.

The pay hike will be distributed as follows: 4% in Year One, 4% in Year Two, and 3% in Year Three.

In addition to the salary increase, employees will enjoy enhanced working conditions, including an increased Breakfast Allowance of $20 and the introduction of Lunch and Dinner Allowances at $35 each.

Furthermore, the Call Back provision has been extended from two hours to four hours, and employees with over eleven years of service will now be entitled to 24 working days of leave.

Johann Harewood, General Secretary of the NWU, announced that the revised conditions will take effect shortly, pending arrangements for the official signing of the industrial agreement.
