Believe it or not, Perilous Times Are Coming!

It is good to notice trends and in so doing it seems like every other person is selling something. At least in the City, every corner you pass there is some item for sale by someone or another. And there is also an absence of standards, especially when it comes to eating — and to me, that is highly unhealthy and unhygienic, so, whether chicken or bakes, pork, some “accra” or the other is readily available.

But we ought to rethink that policy.

People are selling everything from sweets to one cigarette and almost whatever is available in a general store, is also available at the roadside.

Granted, everyone is on a hustle, and this can be considered self-help and commonly referred to as self-employment. But would it not be more sensible to learn a skill, or trade, to enhance your stability, and in so doing, establish a future for yourself or family?

Just because we have become a buying society, the code of the day is “Why make or plant, when you can buy?”

The other situation is happening in paid labour or wages, with plenty of workmen, all charging top-dollar prices and still offering shabby work. To most, it’s only all about the money: do or sell anything for a buck, because there will always be a buyer.  Some offer themselves as helpers, or tradesman and even friends, but all will still do the job anyhow and still demand payment.

There was a song by Peter Tosh called ‘The Day The Dollar Die. Personally, I don’t think that idea is far-fetched, and I think that money will run short and scarce, especially since we’re always buying daily.

Everything we need we buy, be it legal or illegal, good or bad, but we do not deal with having the essential necessities or being in full preparation for the lean times ahead, due to this era of wars.

The world is crumbling around us, the war will get on our doorsteps soon and the cost of living and means of having will reach unbelievable proportions, to the point we may have to steal to get, or beg to have, because such is the possibility of tomorrow.

Material gain is easy when you are a salesman, because we have plenty of buyers in today’s culture, but remember trends and situations can change and it is in such crisis times, that only the fittest will survive.

So, remember that the well can always run dry.

We take a lot for granted, all seems well and easy to get these days, but a great world storm is at hand and just like various periods in history, there will be the proverbial weeping and wailing and moaning and gnashing of teeth.

Man has not just begun to be unjust to each other, but the rich will also continue to grow richer and amass riches and the struggles of the poor, or the have-nots will remain.

The preparation that is necessary is not yet understood by many, plenty people are still blind to the coming realities, the government of the day, nor the church and institution that presently exist will not be able to help.

The businesses that presently enable us to gain a monthly salary will be no more.

Some situations are unimaginable and may sound far-fetched, but in the times of crisis it will also become unbearable, with worsening liveable conditions, too difficult to comprehend and absorb.

So, my strong advice (which can and will also fall on some deaf ears) is to stop the practice of wasting, throwing away, discarding and changing with the times.

All these habits can lead to your downfall. To build your skills, plant a seed, secure all needs and essential wants, because believe it or not, perilous times are coming.
