The 2026 SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 Primary Schools District League Championship sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Development Sports & Digital Transformation, National Lotteries Authority, ACADO, TOGS and TAXI kicked off on Saturday 31st January.
There were wins for Marchand, Micoud and South Castries.
The Championship got off to an exciting start at the pristine Grande Riviere Playing Field In Gros Islet, with Marchand pulling out all the stops to defeat a stubborn and resolute Anse La Raye 2 – 0.
They got their goals from Jamal Edward and Nyheim William in the 45th & 55th minute respectively.
The day’s final game, which was punctuated with lots of intrigue and excitement, witnessed Joshua James registering the first haul of the Championship as South Castries defeated Soufriere 5 – 2.
Joshua netted his goals in the 8th 19th,22nd and 43rd minute, after Curvany Prospere opened the scoring in the 5th minute.
Scoring for Soufriere were Kimari Biscette 7th and Syien Prevost 34th minute.
Down at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere Dennery, Micoud opened their campaign in earnest registering a 6 – 1 victory over Mon Repos.
They got their goals from Keylan Joseph 16th, Kaden Mitchel 20th, Jasshea Vital 35th, Kiev Derose 54th, Kyrie Derose 60th and Jean Luc Joseph in the 1st minute of added on time.
Daniel Charles scored for Mon Repos in the 38th minute.
Prior to the Championship each of the participating teams were presented with footballs by the SLFA Inc. to assist in their preparation.
