Law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into a tragic vehicular collision that occurred in the southern region this week, resulting in the loss of three lives, including that of a minor.
On February 24, at approximately 9:55 a.m., officers from the Laborie Police Station responded to reports of a serious traffic accident at Mac Domel, Laborie.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a grey motor omnibus off the concrete roadway.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a mango tree. Inside the vehicle, three occupants were found unresponsive and were extricated using the Jaws of Life.
Unfortunately, all three were pronounced dead at the scene by a medical practitioner. The deceased have been identified as 43-year-old Kernie Henry, 48-year-old Yvonne Francis, and 4-year-old Rein Henry, all residents of Augier, Vieux Fort.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
