
On Friday February 13, 2026, at about 3:30 p.m., police officers attached to the Dennery Police Station and the Richfond Police Station received information that Eric Ford of Montego Bay, Oleon a suspect in connection with the murder of his brother, Augustus Ford, on February 23, 2024 had been spotted in the Oleon, Dennery area after months of evading law enforcement.
Officers responded to the area, where Eric Ford was located and he was arrested. He was subsequently escorted to the Dennery Hospital for medical treatment following an altercation with three individuals who reportedly assaulted him prior to the officers’ arrival.
Eric Ford was positively identified as the individual responsible for causing the death of Augustus Ford. On Monday February 16, 2026, Eric Ford was formally charged with the offence of Murder and was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
Also, on Friday February 13, 2026, about 8:10 a.m., Police Officers attached to the Marigot Police Station responded to a report of a shooting at La Criox Maingot, Marigot.
Initial reports indicated that one (1) male victim was discovered with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner and has been identified as nineteen (19) year old Ziquan Xavi Hippolyte a resident of Chopin, Castries.
Investigations are continuing into this incident, and a postmortem is scheduled for a later date.
On Friday, January 15, 2026, about 11:52 a.m., officers of the Gros Islet Police Station received a report of a stabbing in New Development, Monchy. The Gros Islet Criminal Investigations Department launched an investigation.
Investigations discovered that Octavia Benoit, an eighty (80) year old resident of New Development, Monchy, sustained multiple stab wounds to her body at her residence. She was transported to the Owen King European (OKEU) Hospital by personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service, where she was listed as being in a critical condition.
The victim’s son-in-law, fifty-one (51) year old Bernard Andre alias “Korean” of Georgeville, Castries, the prime suspect in the investigation, was arrested on the same day of the incident.
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Bernard Andre was formally charged with the offence of Dangerous Harm.
Bernard Andre appeared before the first district court on Thursday, January 22, 2026, where he was remanded in custody.
On Friday, January 23, 2026, a medical practitioner of the Owen King European (OKEU) Hospital notified the investigators that Octavia Benoit had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead about 4:35 pm.
A postmortem examination was conducted on Monday, January 26, 2026, which revealed that Octavia Benoit died as a result of the stab wound to the chest.
Bernard Andre remains remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility as investigations into this matter continue.
On Sunday February 15, 2026, about 12:07 a.m., Police Officers attached to the Micoud Police Station responded to a report of a stabbing at Parish Drive, La Pointe Mon Repos.
Initial reports indicated that one (1) male victim was discovered with an apparent stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner and has been identified as Jamail Joanes of Parish Drive, La Pointe, Mon Repos.
Investigations are continuing into this incident, and a postmortem is scheduled for a later date.
