What do we do when things get rotten to the core?

In all established businesses, you will find good and bad. But there are some establishments that ought not to be forgiven or forgotten, including our Police Force, where employees swear to uphold the law and vow to Serve and Protect. Yet, reports emanating from behind their walls smell rotten.

Consider the chain of events, starting with the poisoning of a police dog, then pertinent evidence in reference to two murders disappearing from their police premises, a very-low success rate of catching criminals associated with or accused of murder.

In addition, the sister departments such as Customs and Port Police all seem to be infiltrated by people involved in the destruction of necessary equipment in their care, contributing to the low detection of illegal substances and weapons.

Over the last year or two, all efforts have been made to improve the units, but from within there seem to be plenty of rotten eggs that all seem to go undetected and nobody is ever caught or suspected.

The need for money interwoven with greed seems to suggest that many employees can be bought and there are few law-abiding employees, as integrity has been put aside. But then, with criminality inside and outside because employees cannot be trusted to walk a straight line, how do we deal with those dark issues?

Our monitoring systems do not seem to work and our surveillance cameras seem all faulty or outdated, unless lack of maintenance is the problem.

Meanwhile, people are simply and easily blaming the government and the many people gainfully employed within the system, but who are also on the take.

However, there are endless questions we always have to keep asking ourselves in times like this, such as the following ones.

Can anything be done? Is this an accepted way of life? Is our criminal system working? Or, are we paying the price of not being honest with ourselves? And what about the right way of doing things?

How can we solve crime at the bottom when it stinks at the top? Are we tolerant because the only way we can get rich is to go that way too and follow the trend? What example do we set for the upcoming generation?

Does the system that we have created have plenty of loopholes like Christianity? Are the government and the law to be seen as all just-a-bluff?

Are we, the upright citizens, wrong for living in accordance with the Law and following principals that are biblical in nature? Must we go over to the values of pirates, gangsters, robbers, gun-slingers, villains and slave masters?

Should we live by our own standards and not by the laws of Humanity? Is life still valuable? Can we revert to better times of old? Can we change? Or, are we fighting a losing battle?

Who are we modelling our lives after? Is this an American thing, or a worldwide thing? Can somebody tell me, because I have difficulties in understanding what is going on.

At my age (as a young septuagenarian), it’s difficult to change my values and choice of life, because of how I was brought up. So, should I shelve the concepts of God and Good and Honesty? Are all the teachings of the past wrong?

Is this the new world order that the bible speaks about? Is there a new kingdom on earth? Are all these signs of the times? Is the end at hand?

Can somebody please clarify, because I need new guidelines and a new understanding.

I feel lost.
