Police are reporting the drowning death of an elderly man, which occurred in the Choiseul community this week.
The deceased has been identified as Patrick Johnson Alphonse, a seventy (70)-year-old resident of Bois D’Inde, Choiseul.
Reports state that on August 18, about 12:38 p.m., officers attached to the Choiseul Police Station responded to a report of a suspected drowning at Anse L’Ivrogne, Choiseul.
Upon arrival, officers found Alphonse’s lifeless body lying on his back along a rocky section of the beach. The victim was transported to St. Jude Hospital by personnel of the Saint Lucia Fire Service, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
Investigations are ongoing into this incident.
