Soccer fans are in for an exhilarating weekend as the Saint Lucia Semi-Pro Football League (SPFL) enters its fourth round of matches, taking place at the Philip Marcellin Ground in Vieux Fort.
The SPFL organizers have dubbed this event: “Three Days, Six Matches, One Epic Football Weekend You Can’t Afford to Miss.”
The action kicked off yesterday (Friday) with two exciting matches: a Tier 2 clash between Marchand and the National U20, and a Tier 1 match featuring Soufriere against Mabouya Valley.
Today (Saturday), the matches include:
- Choiseul vs. Dennery at 7:00 PM
- Canaries vs. Central Castries at 9:00 PM
On Sunday (August 8), the schedule features:
- South Castries vs. La Clery at 6:00 PM
- Gros Islet vs. Vieux Fort South at 8:00 PM
On Wednesday home team Desruisseaux was defeated by Laborie 2-1. Donnaville Montroupe in the 26th minute and Jaheim Ferdinand in the 72nd were the contributors for Laborie. Davel Edwind pulled one back in the 91st minute of play but it was a case of too little too late.

In the second game of the evening Anse La Raye made light work of Micoud beating them 3-0. Anse La Raye scored their 3 goals in a space of 10 minutes. The goal contributors were Zedane Augustin {18}, Nangee Phillip {23} and Hanson Frederick {28}.
When the dust settles, will Anse La Raye and Mabouya Valley still be at the top of the Super and Premier League tables? Or will there be new leaders by Monday?
All roads lead south for six thrilling matches and sizzling entertainment this weekend!
