The Saint Lucia Athletics Association hosted its Sprints Festival, the second Developmental Meet of 2025, last Saturday at the Soufriere Stadium with over 200 registered athletes.

The Meet served as a platform for seasoned competitors and rising stars to shine and featured a variety of sprint and short-distance events, with athletes delivering solid performances across the board. Highlights included standout displays from experienced athletes, as well as promising results from emerging talent, signalling a bright future for athletics in Saint Lucia.
The Association says it remains committed to providing these developmental opportunities to enhance local athletic performance and foster national pride and gave thanks to the athletes, coaches, officials and supporters who made the Sprints Festival a success.
Developmental Meet #3 dubbed Throws & Jumps Festival is slated for Saturday, February 1, 2025, after which will be the Laureates’ Challenge 5K Run, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from the Derek Walcott Square to the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
The event is in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in celebration of the island’s two Nobel Laureates. Interested persons can register via the link here.
