SLFA Senior Men’s Club Competition Resumes

Young Stars secured a decisive victory over Green Monsters as the second stage of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Senior Men’s Club competition which kicked off on Monday, January 20, in  two venues.

At the Desruisseaux Playing Field, Young Stars triumphed 3 – 2 after leading 3 – 1 at halftime. Tevez William, Junior St. Rose, and Garvin Reggie were the standout goal scorers, netting in the 11th, 28th, and 29th minutes, respectively. Green Monsters responded with goals from Kennyson Jn. Marie and Jonah Crafton in the 37th and 87th minutes but couldn’t turn the tide.

In another match, El Ninos squandered a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime, succumbing to Chesters in a thrilling 3 – 2 defeat. Delchan Deterville scored in the 69th minute and Kervon Edward scored twice in the 82nd and 83rd minutes.

El Ninos had previously found the net through Donavan Jn. Baptiste and Davian Jetram in the 12th and 14th minutes, respectively.

At the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort, Platinum FC and Shamballa Shiloh battled to a 1 – 1 draw. Alec Joseph opened the scoring for Platinum in the 5th minute, but Obafami Poyotte equalized for Shamballa with a penalty in the 81st minute.

In a tightly contested match, Jevick Mc Farlane’s lone 33rd-minute goal propelled Victory Eagles to a narrow 1 – 0 victory over Knights.

There were matches yesterday featuring at the Soufriere Stadium: Black Panthers vs. Faith, and Uptown Rebels vs. CT Foundation.

At the Corinth Field: Northern United vs. GMC United, and Valley Soccer Academy (VSA) vs. Lancers FC.
