VIEUX Fort South, Mabouya Valley, Central Castries, Desruisseaux and Canaries delivered impressive victories as the second leg of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) District League Primary Schools Under-12 competition kicked off last weekend.
The competition continues with a dynamic round-robin format established last August. The state-of-the-art turf and grass surfaces at the SLFA Inc. Technical Centre in Dennery set the stage for intense weekend matches.
In the opening round on Saturday, January 18, Mabouya Valley dominated Roseau Valley, crushing them 8-0. Keevan Louisy was the standout performer, netting five goals in the 8th, 12th, 18th, 24th, and 56th minutes. Vjay Edwin added two more in the 2nd and 15th minutes, while Joca Avril capped the scoring with a goal in the 53rd minute.
In a nail-biting clash, Vieux Fort South triumphed over Dennery, securing a 1-0 victory with Rove O’Reilly delivering the decisive goal in the 60th minute.

Central Castries showcased remarkable resilience, overturning a 2-0 deficit at halftime to snatch a 3-2 victory against Anse La Raye.
Jahvis Emmanuel’s two goals in the 41st and 57th minutes, along with Insiah Pinel’s strike in the 33rd minute, led to this stunning comeback. Mitchel Deterville had initially given Anse La Raye a strong position with two goals in the 20th and 24th minutes.
The excitement intensified on Sunday, January 19, when Canaries battled back from a goal down to secure a decisive 3-1 win over Mon Repos.
Kendell Allain was instrumental for Canaries, scoring two goals in the 37th and 58th minutes, complemented by a goal from Caison Clement in the 44th minute. Cyril Charlery had opened the scoring for Mon Repos in the 28th minute, but it wasn’t enough to halt Desruisseaux’s momentum.
Desruisseaux rounded out the weekend with a commanding 3-0 victory over Gros Islet, fueled by Whiz Alcindor’s brace in the 6th and 21st minutes and a goal from Rhyal Camsel in the 18th minute.
