Julien Alfred Named Saint Lucia’s Tourism Ambassador

JULIEN Alfred, affectionately known as “Juju,” has been appointed as Saint Lucia’s Tourism Ambassador. This announcement was made during a ceremony held on Thursday at the Harbor Club in Rodney Bay symbolising her as the ‘Face of Saint Lucia.’ The event celebrated Julien’s remarkable achievements, earned her the role of Tourism Ambassador.

Julien Alfred , in her new role, will represent both Saint Lucia and Puma in a co-branding partnership aimed at promoting the island as a premier travel destination. This partnership goes beyond a mere title, it is a collaborative effort to elevate Saint Lucia’s global image.

She will be actively involved in enhancing the country’s image through various publications, marketing, and promotional campaigns. She will also represent Saint Lucia at major international events and co-brand with Puma at athletic meets.

During the ceremony, SLTA’s CFO Anya Whitfield highlighted Alfred’s accomplishments as an athlete and her role as an inspiration for the youth. Whitfield officially appointed Alfred as the Tourism Ambassador, emphasising the shared vision of promoting Saint Lucia as a top travel destination.

“Your achievements as an athlete have brought us immense pride. Your dedication and resilience have made you not just a formidable competitor, but also a source of inspiration for our youth,” Whitfield declared.

She added, “Your success highlights not only your talent but also the spirit and tenacity that defines Saint Lucia. We are proud to officially appoint you as the Tourism Ambassador of Saint Lucia.”

Whitfield continued, “This role is more than just a title, it represents a partnership grounded in our shared vision of elevating Saint Lucia as a premier travel destination. Your involvement will help us reach new heights and attract visitors seeking experiences that touch the heart.”

SLTA Chairman Thaddeus Antoine also expressed joy and pride in Julien’s accomplishments, detailing the partnership agreement and emphasising the significance of Alfred’s appointments as Saint Lucia’s Tourism Ambassador.

He explained that the SLTA signed a deal with Puma “to ensure that we secure the Tourism Ambassadorship.” Julien will represent the SLTA at major global events and will be involved in boosting the country’s image through publications, marketing, and promotional campaigns.

Julien herself expressed her gratitude and pledged her support and allegiance to represent Saint Lucia with honour, pride, and dignity. She emphasised the significance of her role as a Tourism Ambassador and thanked everyone for their continuous support.

Julien stated that the role of a Tourism Ambassador “means a lot to me,” and she “feels blessed” to take on the magnitude of that task. She added: “Thank you all for the continuous support and Saint Lucia, I will continue to represent you no matter where I go, and I love you all.”

The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Port Authority (SLASPA) presented Julien with an Honorary Membership at the Hewanorra International Airport (HIA) Lounge.

Tourism Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire acknowledged the extraordinary demand for Julien’s image rights and presence, praising the dedication of Puma Representative and Julien’s Manager Henry Rolle in facilitating the Tourism Ambassadorship role.
