On Monday, September 16, 2024, a joint police operation was conducted in Odsan, Castries, by the Special Operations Team, with support from the Special Services Unit (SSU), Traffic Enforcement Team (TET), Vulnerable Persons Team (VPT), Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and Scenes of Crimes Office (SOCO).
During the operation, two men, 47-year-old Noah Mathurin and 32-year-old Yannick Gustave, also known as “Tiny,” both from Odsan, Castries, were arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Ammunition. A search warrant executed at their residence led to the recovery of:
One assault rifle with a magazine and 19 rounds of 5.56 ammunition.
One 9mm pistol with a magazine and 34 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Six 12-gauge rounds.
Three rounds of .380 ammunition.
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, both individuals were charged with one count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, one count of Possession of a Firearm, and four counts of Possession of Ammunition. They appeared in court for bail hearings on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, and were remanded into custody pending further proceedings.
